Life in Singapore (II)
Well, we have briefings these few days, talking about the life and culture in Singapore. There are also loads of forms for us to fill it up before we can actually get our allowance. We went to the Minister of Education today for a workshop, and I think there are about 100 students (from ASEAN countries) getting ASEAN scholarship. There is another kind of scholarship where we call that SIA, and the scholars come from India. All of us are called direct scholars because we just come to Singapore for studies. Anyway, forget to tell you guys, we are allowed to go out until 2 am for any countdown activities (that’s totally great!!!). Yet I think that’s the end of most happiness because the school will begin on 3rd Jan (why I keep reminding myself?). By the way, Li Hsien would be in our room if she did not change her mind and she would be in Anderson JC.
Best wishes!

Hiya guys!
It’s now New Years Eve and I am stuck in the hostel…later going to hit Orchard Road. Read somewhere KL City Hall has cancelled all NY countdown celebrations and no fireworks either, but here’s a virtual toast to all anyway!!!
Bei Shi and I are reading what each other has written, and she is going to give you a good impression on Singapore, which I am not. The school hours are terrible, almost like a 9-5 job. Haven’t started school yet but already having the creeps. BS and I are posted to a scary school (they have excellent Math Olympiad results bla bla bla)…and rich too! Li Hsien, the girl who got away, wait till I get back…
Anyway here’s warm wishes to all and may 2005 be better and cooler!
*hugs* joleen
