The Mother of All Trips

Hey peeps...
This won't be a long post, I know that everyone's got to study... But I just want to say, it's been a great 2 years. All the things that have happened, they'll never happen again in this peculiar, familiar way. We leave, we go our separate ways... Like Chi Yao's depressing song says.

Though not yet =)) For most of us there's still the class trip to look forward to (say it with me: 'Woohoo!'). 5S1 is, more or less, over, but the class trip is a beginning. It marks the (hopefully) beginning of new settings where we can get together, meet together,

So let's make sure it comes of perfect =).

Let's talk about it. Let's all know what's going on. Yes, some details can be kept a secret, but, please-lah, have a democracy. Let's discuss, where we want to eat. Where we want to play. Where we want to lepak.

Yee Yien, if you have the time, post the details that you far. Let's not stay in the dark. And while having a backup plan is necessary, let's not be slaves to any schedule. Let's just make this last trip the Mother of all Trips.

Study hard, people. Then, we can play hard.

And to those who have invites, POST!!!

So long my fellow 5S1ers of 2004...

Graduating from high school isn't a nice thing. We'll have to part with our friends to pursue our own dreams. After form 5, many will go outstation and some will leave for a foreign land. I wonder if we can ever get our class together again in future, not missing out anyone at all. It's gonna be a gloomy day, but look at the bright side (though it's hard to do so): it's the beginning of another chapter of our life. Before i end n go to bed (it's like 1.30 a.m.), i would like to leave you with the lyrics from one of my favourite song.
Vitamin C - Graduation Song (Friends Forever)
And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we turn 25
I keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the same
But when we leave this year we won't be coming back
No more hanging out cause we're on a different track
And if you got something that you need to say
You better say it right now cause you don't have another day
Cause we're moving on and we can't slow down
These memories are playing like a film without sound
And I keep thinking of that night in June
I didn't know much of love
But it came too soon
And there was me and you
And then we got real cool
Stay at home talking on the telephone with me
We'd get so excited, we'd get so scared
Laughing at our selves thinking life's not fair
And this is how it feels
As we go on
We remember
All the times we
Had together
And as our lives change
Come whatever
We will still be
Friends forever
So if we get the big jobs
And we make the big money
When we look back now
Will our jokes still be funny?
Will we still remember everything we learned in school?
Still be trying to break every single rule
Will little brainy Bobby be the stockbroker man?
Can Heather find a job that won't interfere with her tan?
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly
And this is how it feels
As we go on
We remember
All the times we
Had together
And as our lives change
Come whatever
We will still be
Friends forever
Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?
Can we survive it out there?
Can we make it somehow?
I guess I thought that this would never end
And suddenly it's like we're women and men
Will the past be a shadow that will follow us 'round?
Will these memories fade when I leave this town
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly
As we go on
We remember
All the times we
Had together
And as our lives change
Come whatever
We will still be
Friends forever

our present education system

Our countrys education system is a failure.Need I elaborate more? There are pretty obvious proof. It isn't shocking to find the reason our country lacks creative talent. The teachers suppress it, everything must be the same as in the past.Insane mentality

burning the midnight oil.....NOT

assuming that i sleep eight hours a day, i'll wake up at nine. then again, considering that it's sunday tomorrow...schedules go out of the window. i'll wake up at ten. no, eleven. heck, what about twelve..does that sound alright? yeah, twelve, unless my mom wakes me up miraculously.

ya'know, being teenagers...adolescents...youths, you figure we would wake up early. at least that's what they say. or maybe it's just me. to all you guys who stick to a regular schedule, kudos to you! it's probably good for health and longevity, gives you more spunk in the morning..yada yada yada. but there's something hopelessly romantic about staying up to the ungodly hours, doing stuff alone in the silent nocturnal air. maybe i'm exaggerating. then again, everything seems more...lucid and clear, especially my brain, which generally doesn't function well in mornings, and that's why i suggest they hold addmaths exams at 1AM!

well. this is probably not good at all for my acne problem. wake up possibly with tons of new aliens on my face, a sign of my body declaring war on me. sniff. why can't we coexist happily. sniff again.

anyways, congratulations to li hsien and yi teng...maybe they can post their winning stuff here.

and yeah...the humble postman may just be our saviours in the future, at least that's the main idea of the book THE POSTMAN by DAVID BRIN. there's a movie too, by KEVIN COSTNER, which i watched last week, and is three hours long. quite an epic. quite heartwarming and touching as well. check it out. it's a 1997 release. got swamped by TITANIC, which is the most profound crap i've ever watched. four(five? six?) hours no less.

there you go. a book. thought provoking stuff. better than what phoebe reads. (hehehe couldn't resist that jibe...)
midnight oil is gone. maybe a fire will occur. touch wood touch wood (which i am, incidentally...comeon, carbon is the same, isn't it..and since everything's made up of carbon..nvm, not kimia again)...good night!``morning~~

Commonwealth stuff

Since there's like one week before school starts again, thought I might post the Results for the commonwealth competition, since it surprised me, when I read about it.

Before I get to that (heheh, wait for it...) I first want to say that Mr William has got to get his stories right. Half truths and whole lies... pah. There weren't two GRAND prize winners, there were just a couple of commendations. From our class anyway; there are two others in our school besides the two in our class.

And for those of you who don't believe me, the address is http://www.rcsint.org/essay_2004_results//Malaysia,%20all%20awards%202004.rtf . Go see for yourself. It's a text file, if you don't manage to download it go to www.rcisnt.org and poke around.

Without further ado... the people who got the commendations in our class are... (drumroll)...

Yi-Ting! - Highly commended
Li Hsien!! - Commended

So chew on dat.
